FBPE, FEMC Meetings Canceled
The Florida Board of Professional Engineers and the Florida Engineering Management Corporation meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10 and 11, in Orlando have been canceled.

On Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, FBPE staff met with two classes of senior engineering students at the University of West Florida to discuss the steps necessary to become a Professional Engineer in Florida.

The NCEES 2018 Annual Meeting was held in Scottsdale, Ariz., from Aug. 15-18. FBPE Board members and staff participated in the four-day event, which included business and zone sessions and programs for attendees.
Chair’s Corner: Remembering the Engineers’ Creed
Not too long ago I brought up the Engineers’ Creed to a young engineer, to which he replied, “I didn’t know engineers had one.” I said we did and that it has had an influence on many engineers, myself included, as to how we practice engineering. His comment reminded me that I, too, was unaware there was an Engineers’ Creed as a young engineer until someone pointed it out to me.
Log in to Your Account Now in Preparation for Renewal
It’s a good idea to log into your DBPR online account at myfloridalicense.com in the next few weeks, before the renewal period starts. You want to ensure that you can access your account — and troubleshoot any problems that you may encounter — before you are trying to renew your Professional Engineer license or Certificate of Authorization.
Licenses to Be Available Online Only
A major change is coming with this licensure renewal cycle. Professional Engineer licenses and Certificates of Authorization will no longer be mailed. PEs must log into their account at myfloridalicense.com and print their license and CA from there.
Licensure Renewal Information and Tips
All current Professional Engineer licenses and Certificates of Authorizations are set to expire, Feb. 28, 2019. Beginning Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, online license renewal will officially open for the 2019-2021 biennium. CE Rules Changes: How They Affect PEs and Providers
It’s about that time again… when approximately 41,000 licensed Professional Engineers in Florida will be completing their 18 required continuing education hours in order to renew their licenses. These CEHs are mandated under the Florida Administrative Code. Out of these 18 CEHs, at least six must be obtained through providers approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers

2018 FEMC Annual Report Highlights
The Florida Engineers Management Corporation produces an annual report as required by Florida Statutes. The report is submitted to FBPE, the Secretary of DBPR, and the Florida Legislature by Oct. 1 each year. It reports on the status of the corporation, including information concerning FEMC programs and funding, as well as information regarding licenses and complaints handled by FEMC.
