The Florida Engineers Management Corporation produces an annual report as required by Florida Statutes. The report is submitted to FBPE, the Secretary of DBPR, and the Florida Legislature by Oct. 1 each year. It reports on the status of the corporation, including information concerning FEMC programs and funding, as well as information regarding licenses and complaints handled by FEMC.
During my tenure on the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, I became aware that many engineers do not realize that Division 61G15, F.A.C., contains various sections related to “responsibility rules” for the practice of engineering in Florida.
The Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) Civil exam is moving to computer-based testing (CBT), with appointments available year-round at Pearson VUE test centers beginning April 1, 2022.

NCEES has updated its schedule for transitioning all Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) and the Structural Engineering (SE) exams to computer-based testing.
FBPE has approved a second emergency rule temporarily expanding the use of electronically or digitally signed and sealed engineering plans and documents to include printed copies in order to effectuate the state’s efforts to reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Professional Engineers licensed in Florida must complete their 18 hours of continuing education by the end of the current licensure period, which is Feb. 28, 2021.
